Cluj-Napoca Wheels of Ability Sports Club Association, weekly training

In Cluj Napoca trainings have been held with the young beneficiaries of the project ”LEADERS through SPORTS – the Advocacy Program for People with Intellectual Disabilities” throughout the summer and autumn of 2021. The Wheels of Ability Sports Club Association held basketball and roller trainings, because physical activity is welcomed at any time.

Swimming training at the Sports Club Association Ambassadors of Hope in Timișoara

10 young People with Intellectual Disabilities (that we call BRAVE ONES) from the Sports Club Association Ambassadors of Hope in Timișoara train 3 or 4 times a week in the city hall’s swimming pool, under the coordination of Marius Pârjol, physical therapist. They are hard-working and committed and practise sports for health and for future competitions that are much expected. The trainings are conducted under the project “Leaders Through Sports – The Advocacy Program for People with Intellectual Disabilities”.

The Sports Leaders and Mentors Seminar (2nd Module) took place in 5 counties (Timiș, Gorj, Brașov, Vâlcea and Arad)

On the 17th of June, we met for the second regional seminar for Sports Leaders and Mentors (2nd Module) within the project ”LEADERS through SPORTS – Advocacy Program for People with Intellectual Disabilities”. 15 Sports Leaders attended the meeting together with their Mentors from 5 counties (Timiș, Gorj, Brașov, Vâlcea and Arad). The young people learned what a public authority is, how to avocate for their rights, how to prepare for an official meeting with aouthorities. The Leaders were very active and responded very well to the facilitators questions, proving that they can manage the advocacy tasks with which they are invested.
